Hong Kong is the place where I grew up and am proud to call home. After I graduated with a Communication’s Degree in the States, I went straight back to build my professional career in Hong Kong. It is a melting pot of Eastern and Western cultures, and it’s that dynamic vibe which makes this place so unique and attractive to new businesses and global companies. This makes recruitment even more valuable to secure and obtain the right talent at right time. I’m excited to bring a positive impact to a client’s growing business.
My three-year stint at a media company working on PR sales and marketing was precious. As a global company providing a comprehensive media database for PR professionals, not only did I learn to target the right journalists and provide accurate information ensuring smooth communication between both parties, I was lucky to also get the chance to expand my network in the world of PR and in the media communications sector.
I have been in situations where I knew little of what to expect during a job interview; little or no proper briefing and preparation from so called recruiters. Now as a recruiter in the creative communications industry I have seen, and been able to witness what it takes to elevate our level of service and advice, establishing trust and building relationships through direct contact; something I am exciting to be a part of with MCG!
Just two of the key operating principles of MCG are honesty and integrity. These two principles are also what I personally hold close to my heart having had the experience of working in the ‘people business’. People said recruiters are paid to be judgmental, and that is very true. Recruitment to me is like matchmaking, and a critical decision is key. Working in the people business can be tricky, but it is a rewarding and challenging job, and the level of satisfaction definitely excites me!
I feel lucky to be born and raised in this cosmopolitan city, and to grow with the MCG family at this exciting time in their APAC Hong Kong hub.
