With Christmas creeping up on us its been a busy five months for me and the MCG team which was rewarded with a lavish Boat party and invite to the Middle East Public Relations Association Awards! Carrying on from my last blog about Client Side Marketing and Communications – it’s been a hectic and interesting two quarters with most of the filled positions been at a senior strategic level with a huge emphasis on change management and the corporate responsibility associated with such transition.

We have all been singing the same tune here noticing companies in the UAE are now cautious about hiring new staff and could further streamline their payroll to cope with the slowdown brought about by falling oil prices. Redundancies haven’t just been confined in the oil and gas or finance industry but have also effected media and advertising spend. Consumers have also changed their spending patterns particularly in the UAE, part of the reason being psychological. With consumer patterns changing in the way they buy products and spend the retail industry has seen an increase in positions particularly in strategic branding. With today’s brand conscious consumer, powerful branding is the foundation of connecting with target markets I’m finding.

Brand voice and personality can be clearly heard and experienced through messaging and physical manifestation of design. Bringing us back to MCG and our progression in the market, Brand voice and personality has been our key focus point. Justin and the newly promoted Director’s have worked with market changes and we are steering the ship to keep up with industry changes in spend and development. This has meant that I have been able to work closely with existing and new clients to tailor our business needs providing clients with a niche set of candidates to facilitate transition. Personality and branding has also been a focal point for us with more mediums that ever; with social media having added a new and dynamic layer in recent years.

Keep a look out for our new website, which has been adjusted to suit our brand and personality allowing candidates to gain more insight and better demonstrate their capabilities. Leading me onto you! Its my job to represent you to your ideal employer in line with market development and trends. 2016 is predicated to be a big year for technology, healthcare and education and given the volume of positions we are working on at MCG, I’m still predicting a prosperous 2016.
